Kathmandu, September 11 – The late Subash Chandra Nemwang, former Constituent Assembly Chairman and vice president of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), was remembered in a solemn memorial service held today. The event, organized by the CPN-UML, took place at the party’s office in Chyasal and marked the first anniversary of Nemwang’s passing.

Nemwang, who was also a member of the House of Representatives, passed away from a heart attack on Bhadra 26, 2080, at the age of 71. His sudden death left a significant void in Nepal’s political landscape, particularly due to his instrumental role in drafting Nepal’s constitution.

During today’s ceremony, party members and leaders paid tribute to Nemwang by laying wreaths and floral bouquets in front of his photograph. In a speech honoring his contributions, CPN-UML leaders highlighted his legacy as a dedicated leader who championed democratic principles and worked tirelessly for the nation’s progress.

A roundtable discussion was also held, where attendees reflected on his political career, leadership in the Constituent Assembly, and his vision for a unified and prosperous Nepal. His role in shaping Nepal’s constitution was a focal point of the tributes, with party members emphasizing the importance of preserving his values in the current political climate.

Nemwang’s enduring impact on Nepali politics continues to be felt, and his loss is still mourned by many across the nation. The CPN-UML has pledged to honor his memory through ongoing programs and initiatives aimed at furthering his vision for Nepal.
